Chatteris Town FC – 2015/16 Season Openers

With the new season approaching, new-look Chatteris Town Football Club will be aiming for a successful campaign for all teams as they prepare for their upcoming fixtures.

After a decent pre-season, new manager Ashley Taylor will be hoping for a bright start from his side as the 1st Team begin at home to newly-promoted Outwell Swifts in Kershaw Senior A. ‘The Lilies’ have won three from their last six matches, and a number of skilled recruits could be the key towards a push for promotion after their fourth-placed finish last year.

The Reserves will want to aim higher this season after a year to forget as they play a series of friendlies before meeting Swavesey Institute in Newmarket Motor Company 1B. Since their bottom-placed finish last time around, Jock Bedford’s team are currently unbeaten in pre-season, which could prove to be a positive sign heading into the league.

Roger Manchett’s A Team open their Newmarket Motor Company 4B season away at Tuddenham 08. From losing their opening pre-season match, lessons may need to be learned by Manchett’s squad. But with a mixture of youth and experience, there may be enough quality within the side to change fortunes.

Since losing twice in their two pre-season fixtures, the Youth Team visit Wisbech St Mary Youth in the Thurlow Nunn Youth League West Division. Manager Julian Young should be pleased with his side’s performances after having only played together for two matches, and their first competitive match could shine the light for a potentially successful campaign.
